I am trying to setup version control for our organization and I have already installed the svn v.1.8.8 on one workstation hosting the repository. I am trying to install SmartSVN v8.6 on my workstation. I was not able to connect to the repository with Apache, and I wasn't able to make sense of the Apache logs to figure out what was the problem, so I changed to svnserver instead. I was able to temporarily connect with SmartSVN, but then it stopped working. When I try to start SmartSVN, it doesn't run...the process ends immediately. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. There are no error messages in the Windows event log. Both machines are Win7 x64.
If I use svn directly (svn commit svn://) , I am able to commit changes successfully.
I am sure I must have changed something that caused this to happen. I would appreciate help in identifying why SmartSVN fails to start now.
